Association of Nigerian Bookmakers, Nigeria Lottery Operator Forum, Association for Casino and Machine Operators in Nigeria and Federation of State Gaming Regulators of Nigeria in collaboration with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), successfully hosted the Nigeria Data Protection Training for Gaming Operators.
HIGHLIGHT OF THE TRAINING
The training brought together Data Protection Officers (DPOs) and officers responsible for data protection compliance across the gaming sector. The session was designed to deepen participants’ understanding of data protection obligations, regulatory expectations, and the practical steps required to ensure compliance within an evolving digital landscape.
As the gaming industry in Nigeria continues to expand, the importance of safeguarding personal data and ensuring responsible data governance cannot be overstated. The training provided comprehensive insights into key areas such as lawful processing of personal data, compliance responsibilities, cross-border data transfers, and best practices for protecting consumer information.
Participants engaged in meaningful discussions and knowledge-sharing, gaining practical guidance on aligning their operations with existing data protection regulations. The interactive nature of the session also allowed for the clarification of critical compliance issues faced by operators in their day-to-day activities.
